Terms of Use

Effective October 13, 2026

The short version

  • Fara helps you keep track of PCOS and learn about it. It isn’t a medical service and doesn’t replace your doctor.
  • Your records stay on your iPhone, so keeping a backup is up to you.
  • Fara Plus is a subscription through Apple. It renews until you cancel, and you manage or cancel it in your Apple account settings.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and The Manhattan App Studio LLC, a New York limited liability company (“we”, “us”), the maker of Fara. They apply to the Fara iPhone app, Fara Plus and the website fara.health. By using Fara, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Fara.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Fara handles information and is part of these terms.

2. Fara is not medical advice

Fara is for personal tracking and education. It doesn’t provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it isn’t a medical device. Cycle estimates, nutrition targets, patterns and articles are general information based on what you record and on published research. They may not fit your situation, and they can be wrong.

Always talk to a doctor or other qualified health professional about your health, medications, diet or symptoms, and before starting, stopping or changing any treatment. Don’t delay getting care because of something you saw in Fara. Fara is not a form of contraception and can’t tell you when you are or aren’t fertile.

If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number right away.

3. Who can use Fara

Fara is meant for adults. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to use it.

4. Your records

What you enter in Fara belongs to you and stays on your device. We don’t hold a copy, so we can’t recover it if your device is lost, reset or replaced, or if you delete the app. Use your iPhone backups or Fara’s export to keep a copy.

If you connect Apple Health, Fara reads and saves data there as described in the Privacy Policy. Apple’s terms apply to Apple Health.

5. Fara Plus subscriptions

Features that are free today may change, but we won’t lock you out of viewing records you’ve already made.

6. Food and content from other sources

Fara’s food data comes from USDA FoodData Central and from Open Food Facts, which anyone can edit. Nutrition values, including those read from labels you scan, may be incomplete or inaccurate, so check anything important against the package.

Learn articles are written for general education and list the sources they draw on. They aren’t a substitute for advice from your own care team.

7. Using Fara fairly

We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use Fara on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and the App Store’s Usage Rules. Please don’t copy, resell or redistribute Fara or its content, try to get at its source code, interfere with how it works, or use it to break the law. Fara’s name, logo, articles, artwork and design belong to us or our licensors.

8. Changes and availability

We keep improving Fara, so features may change, and we may stop offering some of them. We’ll try to give notice of significant changes. If we update these terms, we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date; if the change is significant, we’ll also tell you in the app. Continuing to use Fara after a change means you accept it.

9. Disclaimers

Fara is provided “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we make no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suited to a particular purpose, or that its estimates and information are accurate or complete. Some places don’t allow these exclusions, so some may not apply to you.

10. Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Fara. Our total liability for any claim relating to Fara is limited to the amount you paid for Fara Plus in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where you live.

11. Ending

You can stop using Fara at any time by deleting the app; remember to cancel any subscription in your Apple account settings. We may suspend access to Fara if you seriously break these terms.

12. Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn’t responsible for Fara or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it, and isn’t responsible for handling any claims about it, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. If Fara fails to meet any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any; Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you aren’t in a country subject to a US government embargo and aren’t on a US government list of restricted parties.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in the EU, the UK or another place whose consumer laws give you the right to bring a claim where you live, nothing here takes that right away. Before bringing a claim, please contact us so we can try to sort it out.
